Zhang Qingjie, male, born in November 1958 in Xixia, Henan Province, is a material scientist, an academician of the CAS Member, the former president, professor, doctoral supervisor of Wuhan University of Technology, and director of the State Key Laboratory of New Technology for Materials Composite.
He has been engaged in research, development and application research in the fields of new energy materials and devices, advanced composite materials and structures, material micro/nano computing and new material design for a long time, and won three National Invention Awards and the State Natural Science Award. Served as the Chief Scientist of the National 973 Program Project "Efficient Thermoelectric Materials and Devices" from 2007 to 2017; Director of the State Key Laboratory of New Materials Composite Technology (2004~2018); Member of the First National Basic Research Strategy Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Science and Technology (2020~); Leader of the expert group in the material field of the Research on Strategic Planning of State Key Laboratory Towards 2035, Ministry of Science and Technology; Leader of the Materials Expert Group for the Research on Cross cutting Frontiers and Disruptive Innovation Strategy Planning for 2035 by the Ministry of Science and Technology; Member of the Expert Group for the Compilation of Key Special Guidelines for Key Scientific Issues in Transforming Technologies under the National Key R&D Program (2017~); Leader of the Expert Group for the Major Research Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China on High Performance Materials with Functional Element Sequences (2019~).
